BATTLE OF BEIJING


1215- Beijing is captured by the Mongols under Genghis khan from the Jurchen ruler Emperor Xuanzong of Jin, ending the Battle of Beijing.








TREATY OF RHEINFELDEN




1283- Duke Rudolph II of Austria waives his right to the Duchies of Austria.









BATTLE OF MAIDSTONE


1648- Battle of Maidstone was fought during the second English civil war in 1648, in this roundheads emerged victorious against the cavaliers.






ANTI-DUTCH TREATY

1670- English King Charles II & French King Louis XIV sign a secret anti-dutch treaty.



AFRICAN SLAVE TRADE TREATY ACT


1862- Bilateral treaty between the US and Uk abolishing the slave trade in all US possessions is signed known as African Slave Trade Treaty Act.






FIRST PAY TELEPHONE SERVICE

1880- The first pay telephone service in the United States is installed in New Haven, Connecticut.



GREEK-SERBIAN TREATY OF ALLIANCE


1913- Greek-Serbian Treaty of Alliance was signed by the two nations to share the wealth amassed during the First Balkan War, however, it did not work resulting in the Second Balkan War.






LOANS TO FRANCE


1923- Both Great Britain and the US are demanding back the loans made to France borrowed during World War I.





SUPERMAN


1938- Superman made his first appearance in D.C comics ‘action comic series’. Superman's character was created by American writer Jerry Siegel and Canadian artist Joe Shuster.






KENYA


1964- African country Kenya, becomes a republic with Jomo Kenyatta as its 1st president.








HELEN KELLER


1968- Blind and deaf American author Helen Keller died in Westport, Connecticut.
