RAMESSES II



1279 BC- Ramesses the Great also known as Ramesses II becomes the Pharaoh of ancient Egypt.










MADISON SQUARE



1879- Named after the president James Madison, The Madison Square Garden opened in New York.





INDEPENDENCE



1910- Union of South Africa declares it independence from the United Kingdom.






BATTLE OF JUTLAND



1916- The Battle of Jutland, an encounter between British and German naval fleets started.





EARTHQUAKE 



1935- An earthquake measuring  7.7 magnitude struck Quetta, in Pakistan leaving 40,000-50,000 dead.






PERU EARTHQUAKE



1970- An earthquake measuring 7.9 magnitude, caused an avalanche that buries the towns of Yungay and Ranrahirca, 50,000 people in the two cities lost their lives, this was the worst natural disaster in the history of Peru.





UGANDA 



2018- Uganda's parliament imposes a tax on social media to stop gossip.
