AMERICAN CIVIL WAR




1862- Robert E. Lee takes command of confederate armies of North Virginia during the American Civil War.

1875- Inventor Alexander Graham Bell makes the first sound transmission.











BLACK AMERICANS

1899- Black Americans observed a day of fasting in protest against lynchings.




PRESIDENT CALVIN COOLIDGE


1924- 30th US President Calvin Coolidge signs the Indian Citizenship Act, Declaring all Native Americans to be American citizens.












QUEEN ELIZABETH II




1953- Following the death of her father Queen Elizabeth II is formally crowned as the Queen in England.
